Veterans Programs

You may qualify for a DVNF Scholarship

A total of up to 50 yearly $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Veterans to help them continue their education outside of the military. Awarded funds will be paid directly to the school with the intent to enable the Veteran to attend an accredited college, university or trade school.

The Goal:

The goal of DVNF's Scholarship Program is to help a veteran with tuition that may not be covered by the Montgomery or Post 9/11 G.I. Bills. Whether you are a veteran who is attending a private school, an out-of-state school, or are in graduate school, the G.I. Bill may not cover all of the necessary tuition expenses.

Eligibility Requirements:

In order for an individual to be eligible for the Scholarship Program, Veterans must:

Have served in active military, or military auxiliaries
Have a discharge with conditions other than dishonourable
Must be attending or planning to attend an accredited US institution at the time the scholarship is awarded (list of accredited schools: http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx).
A citizen of the United States of America.

What We Do

DVNF Veterans Programs It’s a changing world. And in this time of war, the needs of America’s disabled veterans are in a constant state of flux. With this in mind, the Disabled Veterans National Foundation stays as flexible as possible in bringing hope to heroes through our many veterans programs.

There are times when we offer direct assistance to a veteran or a family in immediate need. When that’s advisable, we respond as quickly as possible because larger, more complex organizations do not enjoy the flexibility that DVNF brings to the table.

At other times, we can achieve maximum impact by collaborating with like-minded organizations, a trend that’s strongly encouraged among modern charities as a means to build efficiencies and avoid duplications of services.

Along these lines, we frequently make grants to achieve focused goals on behalf of specific groups of veterans who can fall through the cracks of traditional services. These include women who served our country, homeless veterans, and those who suffer such invisible wounds as brain injuries and PTSD.
